One of my favorite Family Traditions is pumpkin picking at the various Pumpkin Patches throughout Sacramento County/Northern California. Here is a list of local pumpkin patches I have found and the hours of operation.
SACRAMENTO
- Dave's Pumpkin Patch: Opening day Sept 25th
- Princess shows, Hay pyramid, Jumping pillow, and much more!

- Gibson Ranch Pumpkin Patch
- Dog Friendly, Face painting, hay rides on Saturday and Sundays. Fresh fruit to buy
- Address: Gibson Ranch Road.
- After you pull in, you will see signs and orange flags on the right side. It’s before you hit the entrance building.
- Antelope Christian Center Pumpkin Patch
- Pumpkin Blast October 31st 6-8pm
- Children ages 2-8 are going to have a fun and safe Halloween at this Fall carnival designed just for them! Kids will get to win candy and prizes playing carnival-style games, decorate mini-pumpkins, and have a fun environment to show off their costumes for mom and dad to take cute pics!
This is a FREE event! Money is only needed if you'd like a slice of pumpkin pie to support Citrus Heights Little League.
PLACER COUNTY
- Bishops Pumpkin Farm (Wheatland)-Opens September 11th-November 7th

- General Public hours: Closed on Monday's
- Tuesday- Sunday 10-6pm

- Cost: Free Admission but some attractions have a cost.
- Impossible Acres:
- Hours: 9-6pm.

- Cool Patch Pumpkins: Open September 25th-October 31st.
- Home of the world record corn maze. Fun Zones, food and more!
- General Public hours:
- Open Everyday 9-8pm (Weather Permitting)

Here are some photos of the Cool Patch in Dixon. Wow, what a huge place! If you plan on going into the corn maze remember to bring comfortable shoes. It is not for anyone who has balance issues walking. There are many tripping hazards and no place to sit down.
