Saugstad Park (Across from Royer Park)
100 Bulen Street, Roseville CA 95678
Open Dawn till dusk.
What we love about Saugstad Park:
I love this location, if your dog needs some alone time without other dogs (for training or they need practice around other dogs), you will often find lots of opportunities for that here. This location has one large dog park for both small and large dogs. Go there knowing your dog will be comfortable around dogs of all sizes. This is a hidden gem for our community dogs. Some residents have noticed a lot of homeless around the area but we have never had an issue. As always, be aware of your surroundings and don't go in the dark. This location has a small playground too for children to play.
Antelope dog park tips
Here are some tips from the Dog Whisper, Cesar Millan.
- Make sure your dog is spayed or neutered, has all their shots and is in good health.
- Do Not use the dog park as a substitute for a walk: Drain some energy so you don't bring an over excited dog inside the dog park.
- Make sure your dog is calm before entering the dog park so that other dogs won't be a magnet to others who are in fight mode.
- Know your dog: If you have a dog that has shown aggression toward other animals, children, or adults, it's best to leave them at home.
Typical dog park rules include:
- Taking your kids? Supervise them closely! Let them know that running and loud play aren't a good idea around dogs they don't know well, and teach them how to approach a dog to pet it.
- Clean up after your dog! We all need to do our part so watch your dog and make sure you are cleaning up after them.
- Don't bring your lunch. It only invites begging and aggressive behaviors.
- Be polite and considerate of other park users. Common sense prevails!
